Before joining SBR, Jon was appointed by the Governor of Wisconsin to serve as a Racine County Circuit Court Judge from 2018 through 2025.  During his nearly seven years on the bench, he presided over thousands of cases across the legal spectrum.  Because of his extensive pre-judicial work litigating high-exposure business and insurance coverage cases, the Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court appointed him to preside over business litigation cases on the Commercial Court.

Prior to taking the bench, Jon spent nearly 20 years in private practice at a boutique litigation firm.  He specialized in handling complex, and highly technical business, insurance coverage, fraud, real estate, and professional malpractice cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts. When their businesses or livelihoods were on the line, some of the nation’s largest corporations, as well as the families and citizens of our communities, turned to Jon to make their case. Jon has argued in front of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He has also taught continuing legal education courses on insurance coverage and evidence, helping other lawyers improve their skills.

Jon grew up in Mequon, and lives in Caledonia where he and his wife, Sarah, are raising their two children.  He is also a former musician and still enjoys turning his Marshall stack up to 11 and clearing the house with deafening renditions of his favorite 80’s music.
